Stage fright and anxiety 🎹

Hello, unicorns πŸ¦„

So, I’ve never actually done a blog about my anxiety before because I’ve never really had a meaning too. However, as I have to perform In fount of a huge audience tomorrow I thought I may as-well begin now.

So, as I love playing the piano, I thought it would be a good idea to pick music as a GCSE. At the time it felt like a good idea, however now I’m literally so scared for tomorrow that I’m going to mess up and ruin the whole song in front of everyone.

I’m performing in the school’s Christmas πŸŽ„ concert tomorrow and I’m going to be performing in front of 250 people, as-well a the whole school.

I don’t mind performing in front of people I feel comfortable with, but when I have to perform in front of a big audience it’s a complete different story.

When I have to perform in front of people, it just feels like everything’s spinning and my mind goes completely blank.

If you have any advice that might help me, please tell me in the comments.

Thank you so much for reading my blog xx

  1. I totally understand what you’re going through- I’ve done performances in the past and was terrified of going on stage, but I did it and it wasn’t bad (it was even fun)!! The important thing is to not worry yourself about what could go wrong, but just focus on rehearsing and getting excited! My therapist also told me when I was struggling with it to become your character, think of yourself not as a scared performer but as (insert character here) in (insert setting). You’ll do great and good luck!! Xx
